John joined Toscano Law Group, PC in 2016 and specializes in litigating landlord-tenant and personal injury cases on behalf of plaintiffs. Prior to joining Toscano Law Group, PC, he was awarded and completed a prestigious one-year fellowship program with Panish Shea & Boyle LLP, a nationally-renowned personal injury law firm ranked as one of the “Best Law Firms” by U.S. News & World Report. While at Panish Shea & Boyle LLP, John successfully opposed several motions for summary judgment, conducted and defended depositions, argued complicated matters in court, and assisted with trial.
Born in Los Angeles and raised in Dayton, Ohio, John earned a degree in International Studies from Wright State University, where he graduated cum laude and with honors. He earned his law degree from UC Davis School of Law, where he was Senior Notes and Comments Editor for the UC Davis Law Review and Teaching Assistant for Professor Margaret Johns’ Civil Procedure course. John’s article, The Vindication of Rights Doctrine: Still a Key to the Courtroom or Arbitration’s Latest Casualty?, was published in the UC Davis Business Law Journal in Fall 2015. John was also a semi-finalist in the Francis Carr Trial Competition, a participant in Moot Court, and a member of the King Hall Negotiations team.
During his third year of law school, John was named “Law Student of The Year” by the Consumer Attorneys of California, a statewide organization dedicated to protecting the interests of 39 million Californians. He also worked part-time as a law clerk to Toscano Law Group, PC’s Managing Attorney, Eric Toscano.
When he’s not advocating on his clients’ behalf, John actively seeks pro bono opportunities representing individuals who cannot afford a lawyer. Recently, John advocated on behalf of three individuals arrested for peacefully protesting and assisted with the defense of a young indigent woman charged with a felony.
When he is not working on behalf of his clients, John enjoys spending time with his girlfriend Jasmine, who is also an attorney. John is an avid drummer and enjoys listening to live music, cooking, and playing soccer.
